I’m not just a coach — I’m a criminologist who spent over 20 years studying how harm happens.

And what I’ve found is this:

Some of the most devastating injuries don’t break laws — they break hearts.

When I was deeply wounded by church betrayal, I did what I was taught:

Pray harder. Forgive faster. Stay quiet.

But underneath, something was still broken.

That’s when God began to show me the truth — I wasn’t weak. I was wounded. And wounds need care.

Through Scripture, study, and the Spirit’s leading, I discovered a path to wholeness.

Now, I walk other women through that same journey — helping them heal the emotional and spiritual trauma caused by church hurt and other invisible wounds.

So they can walk boldly, love deeply, and live freely again.

I’m Jennifer Dungy — Criminologist. Emotional Healing Coach. Believer in Biblical Restoration.

MY STORY

I’m Dr. Jennifer Dungy — a criminologist, Christian Emotional Healing Coach, and a woman who knows what it’s like to be deeply wounded by the very place meant to bring healing.

Years ago, I had the honor of speaking on Capitol Hill about prison reform. It was a moment of advocacy and faith — using my platform to amplify the voices of the overlooked.

But the very next day in church, everything shifted.

In front of the congregation, my spiritual leader publicly shamed me — accusing me of stealing God’s glory. I was stunned. Embarrassed. Silently crushed.

That moment began a painful unraveling.

I fasted. I prayed. I searched my heart. And though that same leader eventually offered a vague nod of approval for the work I had done, the wound remained. When I eventually left that church — with grace and honor — I was met with silence, gossip, and the heartbreaking loss of a spiritual community I had served for years.

That’s when I discovered something I had only ever studied from afar:

Invisible wounds can break you just as deeply as visible ones.

WHAT MAKES MY APPROACH DIFFERENT

As a criminologist, I’ve spent years studying harm and trauma — especially the kind that doesn’t leave physical evidence but shapes everything: your identity, your trust, your voice.

And as a woman of faith, I’ve now walked through what I call spiritual trauma — the betrayal, confusion, and isolation that comes when your pain is ignored, minimized, or blamed on you.

But by God’s grace, I chose to fight — not with bitterness, but with truth.

God led me on a journey to heal my heart, renew my mind, and reclaim my calling.

Now, I help other women do the same.

Most traditional counseling doesn’t fully grasp the spiritual dynamics of church trauma.

Most spiritual leaders don’t fully understand the psychological and emotional damage.

That’s where I come in.

I bring together my criminological understanding of trauma and harm with Biblical healing principles to offer a powerful, specialized process I call:

The Invisible Harm Recovery — A recovery framework specifically designed for Christian women whose spiritual identity and emotional well-being have been compromised by church wounds.

Because when you heal at this level, you don’t just “feel better.”

You regain your voice. Your discernment sharpens. Your confidence deepens. And your purpose becomes unstoppable.

You Don't Have to Carry This Pain Alone.

Whether you’re just beginning to unpack what happened or you’ve been holding it in for years, your healing matters.

You’re not being too sensitive. You’re not overreacting. You’re responding to real harm — and God wants to meet you in it.
